Our team of specialists, then still under the name ElectroMax, had the honour of illuminating this historic monument and symbol of the city. The Water Tower in Drobeta Turnu Severin is one of the most recognized and appreciated historical monuments of the city. It was built at the beginning of the 20th century, around 1910. The building was originally designed to serve as a water tower. Its purpose was to regulate the water pressure in the local distribution network and to store the necessary water reserves for the city. Its impressive architecture, which combines neo-Romanesque decorative elements with period-specific industrial motifs, turns this tower into a true tourist attraction. With a unique design, the tower is distinguished by a robust cylindrical shape, crowned by a circular balcony and a conical roof, offering a panoramic view of the entire city.
Over the years, the Water Tower has gone through several phases of restoration and reconversion, adapting to new requirements and functions. After it ceased to function as a water tower, the building was transformed into a cultural space. It hosts various events, exhibitions and artistic activities. Today, it not only serves as an iconic landmark for Drobeta Turnu Severin but also as a vibrant centre of culture, attracting visitors and artists from all over the country. This transformation underlines the importance of preserving the architectural heritage and adapting it to contemporary needs. Thus, the Water Tower is a remarkable example of the revitalization of historical monuments.
