The design and architectural lighting fixtures for the Black Eagle Palace in Oradea, Romania, is one of the projects carried out by Electro Max that Visioluce is proud of today. This project was carried out in collaboration with Luxten, together with whom we carried out a series of projects in the city centre: Moskovits Palace, the Moon Church and the Ferdinand Bridge.
The Black Eagle Palace is a symbolic building for the city of Oradea, being considered an architectural monument. The building dates from 1908, being designed by architects Marcell Komor and Dezső Jakab, in the Secession style. The facade also has baroque influences, being richly decorated with flowers, eagles, human silhouettes and curvilinear patterns. This is the largest and most representative Secession-style building in Transylvania.
The building consists of two bodies connected by a glazed passage. It has a high ground floor and 4 floors. The facade facing Unirii Square is asymmetrical and houses the famous stained glass window with the Black Eagle that made this building famous. The clock tower can also be noted on this facade.
Currently, the building houses several clubs, cafes, and offices.
The rehabilitation of this building lasted from 2014 to 2017. In 2016, we took part in the creation of the architectural lighting system in collaboration with Luxten.
To make the building stand out, we used projectors from the Galaxy series in particular. Considering the predominantly warm hues in which the building was renovated, we used a light temperature (CCT) of 3000K.
By implementing this architectural lighting project on the facade of this tourist attraction, tourists also have a complete visual experience during the night.
All the lighting fixtures used are exclusively equipped with LED technology. This fact leads to a significant decrease in energy consumption, but also in maintenance costs.
